# Bridges and Crosschain Routes Into HyperEVM

A bridge is not just a button labeled “deposit.” The route determines which contracts or validators custody value in transit, which token representation arrives, how long finality takes, and what happens if the route pauses. HyperEVM users should distinguish native Hyperliquid paths, issuer-native systems such as CCTP for USDC, and third-party crosschain bridges.

## Native Hyperliquid bridge

The native bridge connects supported external assets into Hyperliquid under protocol-defined validator and contract mechanics. It is tightly related to HyperCore onboarding and withdrawal flows.

## Issuer-native routes

For assets such as USDC, Circle-controlled mint/burn infrastructure can provide a different crosschain trust model from a lock-and-mint bridge. CCTP moves value by burning native USDC on the source and minting native USDC on the destination subject to Circle's system.

## Third-party bridges

Third-party protocols can support more chains, tokens, and UX paths. Their security depends on their own contracts, validators, relayers, liquidity providers, or messaging architecture.

A route being popular does not make its trust assumptions equivalent to native settlement.

## Choose by asset and risk

Check source chain, destination environment, token contract, expected finality, fees, route limits, and recovery process. For institutions, also verify whether the provider is supported by custody and policy infrastructure.

Always verify destination token addresses independently when meaningful capital is involved.
