# Tokenized Real-World Assets on Hyperliquid

“RWA on Hyperliquid” can describe several different products. A token can represent a legal claim on an offchain asset. A perpetual can track an equity, commodity, index, or rate without giving the trader ownership of the underlying. A HyperEVM application can use tokenized Treasuries or fund shares as collateral. The legal and economic claim must be identified before the ticker is analyzed.

## Tokenized ownership or fund interest

A tokenized security or fund interest depends on an issuer, legal wrapper, transfer rules, custody of the underlying, and redemption process. Blockchain settlement does not remove those offchain dependencies.

## Synthetic exposure

A perpetual market can reference an external asset through an oracle while remaining a derivatives contract. The trader receives PnL exposure rather than shareholder voting rights, dividends by default, or ownership of the underlying security.

Market-hours differences can make reference pricing more complex when the underlying venue is closed.

## Tokenized collateral

Treasury-backed tokens or money-market-fund representations can serve as yield-bearing collateral if a protocol accepts them. Their risk combines issuer redemption, stable valuation, smart contracts, and collateral haircuts.

## Why Hyperliquid is relevant

HIP-3 creates a route for builder-operated derivative markets around a wider set of underlyings, while HyperEVM can host tokenized assets and applications. That makes RWA growth a market-structure and regulation question as much as a tokenization question.

## Due diligence

Ask: What legal claim does the token or derivative create? Who holds the underlying? What is the oracle? What happens outside underlying market hours? Who can redeem? Are transfers restricted? Which jurisdiction governs the product?
