# Moving USDC Between HyperEVM and HyperCore

USDC on Hyperliquid can exist in the context of HyperEVM smart contracts or HyperCore balances used for native markets. Because the environments maintain distinct accounting, applications cannot assume one balance is instantly spendable in the other. Hyperliquid provides native transfer mechanisms, and the documented block ordering determines when the destination balance becomes available.

## Why move USDC to HyperCore

Native spot and perp trading, HIP-3 collateral, and other HyperCore functions use balances recognized by the native financial engine. An EVM USDC balance is not automatically a perps collateral balance.

## Why move it back to HyperEVM

Lending, AMMs, vaults, payments, and other smart-contract applications need ERC-20/native EVM state. Moving capital back can unlock DeFi use or CCTP crosschain transfer.

## Timing

HyperCore-to-HyperEVM transfers queue until an EVM block, while EVM-to-Core transfers follow the documented intra-block order. Builders should reconcile the destination state before executing a dependent action.

## User experience

Show “HyperCore USDC” and “HyperEVM USDC” separately when a distinction matters. A combined portfolio value is fine for overview, but action screens need the spendable balance in the relevant environment.

## Strategy risk

Moving collateral away from HyperCore can reduce margin headroom. Moving EVM liquidity away from a lending position can be impossible without first withdrawing from the application. Capital mobility is conditional on both source state and transfer timing.
