# HyperLend: The HyperEVM Money Market

HyperLend is a lending protocol on HyperEVM. Suppliers deposit assets into lending pools, borrowers post collateral and draw liquidity, and interest rates respond to market utilization and protocol parameters.

DefiLlama lists roughly **$538.9 million** of HyperLend TVL on Hyperliquid L1 as of August 31, 2026.

## Why an EVM lending market still matters

HyperCore Portfolio Margin now supports native borrowing and supply mechanics for eligible assets. That does not make HyperEVM lending redundant.

An EVM money market can expose tokenized positions, support its own collateral set, integrate directly with other contracts, and build independent risk and interest-rate models. HyperCore lending is designed around trading capital efficiency, while HyperLend can serve broader DeFi credit use cases.

## Credit can connect back to trading

HyperLend also provides flows designed around Hyperliquid's two execution environments. Its interface can accept eligible L1 spot assets as collateral by moving them into the EVM-side lending system and can route borrowed liquidity back toward HyperCore.

    B --> C[HyperLend collateral]
    C --> D[Borrow stablecoin]
    D --> E[Transfer toward HyperCore]
    E --> F[Trading capital]
```
This is useful for a trader who wants liquidity without immediately selling a core asset position.
## The risks are classic lending risks
Borrowing capacity depends on collateral values and protocol risk parameters. If collateral falls far enough, the position can become liquidatable. Suppliers are exposed to smart-contract risk, borrower demand, utilization, oracle design, and the protocol's ability to liquidate unhealthy debt efficiently.
A high supply APY should therefore be decomposed into its source. Organic borrower interest, token incentives, and temporary utilization spikes have different durability.
## HyperLend's role in the stack
HyperLend is best understood as a programmable credit layer around Hyperliquid. It shows why HyperEVM is valuable even when HyperCore already contains native financial primitives: independent protocols can build specialized balance sheets and then connect them back to the network's trading liquidity.
