# Morpho Blue on Hyperliquid: Isolated Lending Markets

Morpho Blue is an EVM lending primitive where each market is defined by a **loan asset, collateral asset, liquidation loan-to-value ratio, oracle, and interest-rate model**. Markets are isolated rather than sharing one global pool of collateral risk.

DefiLlama lists about **$318.9 million** of Morpho Blue TVL on Hyperliquid L1 as of August 31, 2026.

## Isolation changes how risk is contained

In a traditional pooled lending market, many assets can share one risk system. A bad collateral asset can therefore create consequences beyond a single pair.

Morpho Blue keeps each market separate. A HYPE/USDC market and another collateral market can have different risk parameters and do not automatically share the same balance sheet.

This makes permissionless market creation easier, but it pushes more responsibility onto users and curators. Two markets using the same collateral can still have different LLTVs, oracle designs, liquidity, or interest-rate behavior.

## Vaults can sit above the primitive

Morpho vaults can allocate lender capital across selected Blue markets. A curator chooses an allocation policy so a depositor does not need to manually evaluate and supply each market.

That introduces a second layer of analysis:

- **market risk:** collateral, oracle, LLTV, liquidity
- **vault risk:** curator choices, permissions, allocation policy

## Morpho versus HyperCore lending

The difference is architectural. Portfolio Margin borrowing exists inside HyperCore to make a trading account more capital efficient. Morpho is a general EVM lending primitive whose positions can be composed with other smart contracts.

    C[Morpho Blue] --> D[Isolated EVM credit market]

The models are complementary because their risk boundaries and intended composability differ.

For institutional users, the market ID matters more than the Morpho brand alone. The exact five parameters define the credit exposure being entered.
