# How HyperEVM Lending Composes With HyperCore Portfolio Margin

A HyperEVM money market and HyperCore Portfolio Margin can both lend assets on the same L1, but they are not one shared loan book. HyperEVM lending is implemented by application smart contracts with their own collateral, oracle, and liquidation rules. Portfolio Margin is native HyperCore account logic. A strategy can move assets between them, but risk does not automatically net across the boundary.

## Two different credit engines

A HyperEVM lender such as an isolated or pooled money market determines its own eligible collateral, loan-to-value ratios, interest model, supply caps, and liquidators through smart contracts.

Portfolio Margin uses native protocol parameters and evaluates eligible HyperCore balances and positions. A healthy position in one engine does not guarantee the other sees usable collateral.

## How capital moves

Supported transfers between HyperCore and HyperEVM allow assets to be repositioned. A user can withdraw or move capital from one environment, then supply it to another application subject to the transfer and token mechanics.

That operation can create timing and liquidity risk. Capital in transit or locked in a lending market may not be available to satisfy a sudden HyperCore margin requirement.

## Composable strategies

A sophisticated user might borrow on HyperEVM to fund a HyperCore trade, hedge HyperEVM collateral with perps, or use HyperCore carry returns while keeping part of the portfolio in an EVM lending market.

Every extra leg adds another interest rate, oracle, liquidation rule, contract dependency, and transfer path. The strategy becomes a graph of balance sheets rather than a single position.

## Do not assume shared liquidation protection

If the HyperEVM leg approaches liquidation, HyperCore profits do not automatically rescue it unless capital is transferred in time and in an eligible form. The reverse is also true.

Risk dashboards should model each margin engine separately, then add cross-environment liquidity and transfer constraints on top.
